Frank Cavallaro Bio
I’ve been a radio and television broadcaster for over 43 years. For many years I’ve worked on radio stations as a morning show host, drive host, and news anchor. From N.B. to Winnipeg to Ontario to Sherbrooke and back to Montreal on Mix 96, CJAD, and 940NEWS.
I’ve also worked in promotions, sales, and programming along the way.
I was the Weather Presenter on CTV Montreal, and CBC Montreal.
I’m also the Founder, and President of The Frank Cavallaro Foundation which has donated over $1 Million Dollars to various charities in Quebec such as the Canadian Cancer Society, The Arthritis Society, The Angelman Syndrome Foundation and others.

I grew up in the West Island of Montreal (Pointe-Claire). I grew up in the days of 80s Saturday Morning Cartoons, always loved media, and entertainment. At 8 years old, I enrolled in Kids In Action, a youth theatre group run by Nathalie Gauthier, who now owns a circus/trapeze school in LA. She trains Pink and Cher on all their wirework, etc. I also loved radio, my dad had this stereo in the living room, we would sit and listen to disco, I eventually figured out how to attach a radio shack microphone to it and record it onto a cassette. I loved listening to the commercials. When I finally got into radio school, we had a tour of a radio station, and I just remember being in the studio, and it felt like home. The production director played this old Yamaha motorcycle commercial, just the way it was produced the voice, everything, I was hooked. I love connecting with listeners & the community. The last thing, I love Sc-Fi, Star Trek, Doctor Who, etc.

Just before the pandemic, my spouse and I bought a house very near the Quebec-Ontario border. It seems the cross-border theme has followed me for much of my life and has now become firmly entrenched!
I can be heard on the air in both provinces, on Lite 98.5 in Ottawa and on Lite 106.7 in Hudson/Saint-Lazare. It just seems natural to me, having spent numerous years at radio stations like CFGO, Q101, W1310, Y105, and Majic 100 in Ottawa. And prior to that, at FM96 in Montreal.
Radio has played a huge part in my life ever since embarking on this epic journey right out of college. I consider myself very fortunate to still be doing what I love to do. And I have YOU to thank for that… Radio listeners! Merci beaucoup!
