Welcome back from the Easter weekend. Some people do get today off instead of Friday. Government workers get both, but everything else is mostly open. The president and CEO of the Montreal Port Authority is looking for another job. In a short statement issued on its website Friday, the port said Julie Gascon has left her role that day. They did not release a reason for her departure. The authority, which operates the inland port link in Canada to global markets via the St. Lawrence River, said her departure comes after she took on the role in early 2024. While the war is already punishing us with over-inflated gas prices, it's also going to have an effect on your overseas vacations. Experts say soaring fuel prices tied to the American-Israeli war in Iran is forcing airlines to adjust operations and pass those costs to customers. WestJet is planning to introduce a $60 surcharge, they say it's temporary, for certain bookings and has consolidated numerous flights, reducing the number of flights in April and May. And Jeremy Hansen just days away from being the first Canadian astronaut to circle the moon as part of the Artemis 2 mission. The astronaut from London, Ontario is expected to do a lunar flyby on day six of the mission with his fellow astronauts. But before doing so, he joined in a live question and answer session yesterday. Light 1067 Sports, NHL last night. Montreal lost to New Jersey 3-0. But they did clinch a playoff spot for the 2nd consecutive season because Detroit lost to Minnesota. So the Canadians are now the first Canadian NHL team to secure a postseason berth. Elsewhere yesterday, Ottawa beat Carolina 6-3. Montreal hosts Florida tomorrow at 7. Baseball yesterday, the Jays were blanked by the White Sox 3-0, losing all three games this weekend. They're on the road again tonight to start up a series against the LA Dodgers. NBA last night, Raptors lost to Boston 115-101. They host Miami tomorrow 730.
