Water pooling and ponding is also possible. So just be careful if you're driving. 27-year-old arrested and charged in the shooting death of his girlfriend in a downtown Montreal condo. Alexandre Resto appeared in court to face a single count of manslaughter. The investigation began when he apparently contacted police triggering a wellness check at a home where an officer discovered a body. It is the 9th suspected femicide in Quebec this year and the 7th homicide in Montreal since the start of the year. An Ontario truck drivers pleaded guilty to causing a horrific pileup that killed a mother and her 11-year-old son and left two others with life-altering injuries. He was apparently distracted by an online game. The 29-year-old admitted in Longai Court Wednesday he was playing on a cell phone for about an hour before his tractor trailer slammed into traffic on Highway 30 in 2022. Records show he used his phone 18 times in the hour leading to the crash. The Prime Minister is set to meet with Christine Prechette, Quebec's new premier. The new leader of the Coalition of Near Quebec was sworn in two days ago and is expected to bring the province's wants and needs to the meeting. That includes Quebec's demands that the federal government work to create a more equitable distribution of asylum seekers across the country. The province also wants the Carney government to intervene and help ensure a massive hydroelectric deal with Newfoundland and Labrador is finalized. Light 1067 sports.
