Well, it's so cold, Environment Canada has a warning. They've issued a note saying Arctic air is pushing southwards combined with winds will result in wind chills between minus 20 and minus 30. 35 over much of the province into this morning. Expect very cold conditions for travel and outdoor activities. We'll have the forecast on the way. Montreal's canine unit's been canvassing the area after a business in Montreal's LaSalle borough was shot at early yesterday morning. Montreal police were called just after one and say more than one projectile found on the storefront on Teary Street and Newman Boulevard. There were no injuries. Police have not made any arrests. The official opposition in Quebec City, meanwhile, is calling for a parliamentary committee to address the numerous cases of extortion and firebombings targeting restaurants and businesses largely in the Montreal area. Jennifer Macaron, the Quebec Liberal Party's public security critic, said there's a real culture of fear in the industry as business owners are increasingly being asked by criminals to pay protection money. The prosecution and defense have told the Montreal courtroom that a man who stabbed his parents and grandmother to death inside their home in 2023 should not be found criminally responsible because he was schizophrenic. The joint submission saw the crown and defense agree that Arthur Gallerneau was suffering from a mental illness at the time of the triple murder. And they apparently just didn't call enough times. That's what the Secretary of State for the CRA is alluding to after the Auditor General report found just 17% of individual tax questions were answered accurately over a four-month span. Wayne Long is pushing back, saying the CRA is not in disarray. They only called 167 times and they needed to call more. He claims their internal review shows Canadians do get timely and accurate info. The auditor report also noted some agent responses to business tax and general benefits questions were accurate just over 54% of the time. Light 1067 Sports NBA last night.
