More than 52,000 spectators attended, including Prime Minister Kearney, who sat next to the president of FIFA. Canada's next game is Wednesday. It's also in BC. Black employees of the Montreal police force are raising concerns over workplace safety and fears of retaliation. According to an internal letter, some staff are reluctant to report to work following the dismantling of a patrol unit over racist misconduct allegations. The employees are demanding stronger whistleblower protections and warn, covert internal efforts to unmask informants are actively destroying trust. This internal crisis comes as public pressure mounts on the Quebec government to launch an independent inquiry into the department. And some fans are fuming after World Cup tickets they bought through resale sites fell through. Reports of tickets that never arrived, orders canceled at the last minute. The vast majority seem to be with StubHub, but SeatGeek and Vivid Seats also reporting issues. FIFA reiterated sales through its official sites are guaranteed to go through.
