Canada's sending financial relief to Venezuela to help with damage after two massive earthquakes. Five million in funding will help provide food, clean water, and health care. More than 230 people have been killed and thousands left injured. The number of casualties is expected to climb. The RCMP has now launched a national security investigation into Monday's deadly Montreal shooting, treating it as a possible case of ideologically motivated violent extremism. The probe is separate from the Quebec Provincial Police murder investigation. Now police have not confirmed A motive, but the Canadian press has reviewed a manifesto allegedly written by the gunman that expressed his hatred towards women and encouraged violence. The shooting killed a Montreal police officer and bystander before the gunman died in an exchange of gunfire with officers. Montreal police are investigating after a body was found inside a tent near the Jacques Cartier Bridge. According to reports, police called at about 8 in the morning for an unresponsive individual at the former Familex factory building, which burnt down in January. First responders found a 36-year-old person pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation continues. Light 1067 sports baseball yesterday. The Jays lost to Texas 6-5. That weekend home series continues tonight. In the WNBA, the Toronto Tempo blasted LA 125-97. World Cup soccer yesterday. Ecuador upset Germany 2-1. It was Ivory Coast over Curacao 2-0. Tonight in the CFL, the Argos are in Saskatchewan at 9. And Canadian elite basketball, Montreal hosts Niagara at 7.30.
