I'm Stacey Engelhart. While we ring in the new year in just three days, a freezing rain warning and a wind warning has been issued. There could be significant impacts on rush hour traffic. We'll have details coming up in the forecast. A 44-year-old Quebec man has died after being pulled from the water off a Florida beach. Volusia County Beach Safety, the local lifeguard and beach rescue service, wrote in an e-mail. The man was found floating face down in a rip current shortly before noon Friday. Lifeguards brought him back, but he did not have a pulse. The man was transferred to a hospital and pronounced dead. And Brigitte Bardot, the French actor and animal rights activist, is being remembered in Canada as a prominent opponent of the country's seal hunt. She died on Sunday at the age of 91, becoming the first major celebrity to campaign against the hunt in the 1970s. She would later return to Canada, criticizing other wildlife calls, including a deer call in a Montreal park in 2022. Light 1067 Sports, the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.
