Two people have died, another in critical condition after a car apparently attempted to flee from police. and crashed into a gym north of Montreal. Laval police said they tried to stop the car when it was spotted without a license plate at about 1.20 in the morning. Police say officers abandoned their attempt to intercept the vehicle, but the driver lost control further down the road, crashed into a fitness center, killing the driver. A 19-year-old passenger died in hospital, another 19-year-old in critical condition. The trial of a man accused of killing his nine-year-old daughter last summer during a trip to New York continues today. The 46-year-old pleaded not guilty to charges. His trial began a couple of weeks ago. Yesterday an investigator testified of text messages between he and the girl's mother. At the time the daughter was reported missing and he was located near where the body was discovered. And how expensive are groceries? even Good Food can't pay their bills. The Montreal-based meal kit business has filed for creditor protection. Court document shows the company has turned to the courts for a reprieve and considering a sale because it owes millions to creditors.
