Well, it's being called a security incident, but NORAD said fighter jets escorted 2 international flights bound for Montreal yesterday. It prompted a police response at the Trudeau International Air Airport. Quebec police arrested two males in their 20s and 30s. The men were being questioned and could face charges related to fraud, no other details were known. The airport did tell passengers to check their flight schedule in case there were delays. The owner of an old Montreal building where seven people died in a fire in 2023 has been charged with manslaughter. 63-year-old Emile Benemore, a lawyer and businessman who owns multiple properties in the Montreal area, was arrested yesterday morning, faces 7 counts of manslaughter and eight counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm. Police said the charges are related to the management of the building or lack thereof. A jury has convicted a man accused of killing his two children in their family home guilty on all charges. 49-year-old Kamaljit Aurora found guilty of first-degree murder in the deaths of his 11-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter. He was also found guilty of attempted murder on his eldest daughter and his wife. Both survived the attack. He blamed the attacks on depression. And the Quebec finance minister tabled his 8th and most likely his final budget ahead of the October general election. Now some of the highlights include health care spending increases of 4.1%, education spending is going up 2.4%, and one of the most controversial spends, a $250 million fund that can be used at the discretion of the winner of the leadership race of the governing coalition of near Quebec. Critics are calling it a political credit card. The 2025-26 fiscal year will end in a $7.7 billion deficit. Light 1067 Sports NBA last night. Raptors blasted Chicago 139-109.
