Rising water levels has forced the closure of a bridge to vehicle traffic. According to reports, Il Mercier Bridge in the Riviere des Prairie is closed to vehicles but open for pedestrians, and Pierrefont-Roxborough-Che-me-de-Lance-A-Lorme was also closed as a precaution Sunday. While no evacuations have been ordered, residents are bracing for potential flooding. Quebec bar owners are demanding government action to stop what they're calling an unprecedented wave of extortion and violence. According to reports, the industry is facing gunfire, fire bombings and protection money threats now spreading beyond Montreal. Owners want the province to delay cuts to video lottery commissions to help fund private security. They're also calling for a dedicated police task force to allow owners to report threats safely without fear of retaliation. Mexican authorities say a gunman opened fire on tourist Monday at the pyramids north of Mexico City. leaving a Canadian tourist dead and another Canadian among at least 13 people injured. The gunman opened fire from atop one of the historic pyramids before he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. And lawyers for the city of Montreal will be asking Quebec's Court of Appeal this morning to overturn a landmark ruling on racial profiling by police. The class action suit by racialized citizens alleges they were unfairly arrested, detained and racially profiled by police between 2017 and 2019.
