While we're under a special weather statement, areas of the greater Montreal area will see freezing rain tonight into tomorrow. Details coming up in the forecast. U.S. federal investigators are sharing some early details into their probe in Sunday night's fatal crash involving an Air Canada jet at New York's LaGuardia Airport. They say only one of two air traffic controllers on duty at the airport cleared the fire truck to cross the runway 12 seconds before the plane touched down arriving from Montreal, leaving little time to avoid the collision that killed both Canadian pilots. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is looking to determine if two controllers on duty overnight is enough. An Air Canada pilot killed in the collision is being remembered. Citizens have been calling City Hall in Cote du Lac, offering condolences to the family of Antoine Farret, who died alongside copilot Mackenzie Gunther. Mayor Andre Brasseau said City Hall staff have been touched by the outpouring from Canada and beyond. They've been directing people to a Facebook page where there's a post about the pilot's death, garnering hundreds of comments and shares. And if you're planning a trip to the U.S. anytime soon, pack your patience. Air travel is only getting worse with major airports reporting at least a four-hour wait to get to the gate. Government in-house fighting led to a partial shutdown affecting the Department of Homeland Security, and TSA workers haven't been paid in five weeks.
