A longtime Canadian news anchor has passed away. Lloyd Robertson's family told the Canadian Press the veteran broadcaster died last night. The Stratford, Ontario native got his start at a local radio station in 1952. He eventually took a job after the CBC with CTV News. He was a member of the Order of Canada, Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and became the first journalist inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame. He was 92. Over 100 residents gathered outside the Pierrefond Roxborough Hall in Montreal Monday night, looking for action from elected officials after the borough's first council meeting since hundreds of homes were flooded in June. Many worry about the rising insurance costs and declining property value. Environment Canada said about 150 millimeters of rain had fallen over parts of western Montreal and the South Shore within hours in June. Pierre Franc Roxborough's mayor defended the response, saying crews handled more than 300 calls and the scale of the damage required weeks of cleanup. Montreal's mayor said after the June flood, the city would continue investing in sewer and drainage infrastructure. Quebec police called the Canadian Armed Forces to dispose of a suspected grenade. Somebody found at a campground south of Montreal yesterday. Police said the item appeared to be a grenade. It looked old, but officers weren't able to confirm if it was authentic. A security perimeter was put in place at the campground. Campers were temporarily prevented from entering or exiting. Light 1067 sports baseball yesterday. The Jays lost to Houston 7-2. At the National Bank Open in Montreal, Gabriel Diallo's comeback attempt was stopped short. He had to pull out of the tournament because of a leg injury.
