According to reports, an 87-year-old woman died Sunday. during a power outage in Notre Dame de Grasse. She is the second person to have died in the area since a power failure on Saturday. The coroner launched an investigation. An Idro Quebec spokesperson expressed sympathies for the woman but said it could not make any further comments. Also, what caused the power outage? According to a CBC report, the substation that went down was supposed to be replaced in 2018. Project documents show the utility has long identified the Hampstead substation as a weak link in the grid. Most residents had finally gotten their power back by late Monday. A Quebec woman who threw boiling water on a 10-year-old will learn her fate today. Stephanie Burrell pleaded guilty to aggravated assault last September, acknowledging she acted out of frustration when kids kept ringing her doorbell. Sentence arguments are scheduled at the courthouse in Longueay, where the Crown prosecutor is expected to argue for jail time. The boy suffered serious burns to his face, chest and shoulder. And the Bank of Canada is expected to make an interest rate announcement and release updated economic forecasts in its monetary policy report today. The central bank's interest rate is set at 2.25%.
